Electron Energy Corporation (EEC) is a samarium-cobalt magnet manufacturer founded in 1970 by Marlin S. Walmer and headquartered in Landisville, Pennsylvania. In August 2024, Magnetic Holdings LLC, backed by private-equity firm Tinicum, acquired a majority stake in the company, with the Walmer family retaining a minority interest and Michael Walmer continuing as chairman and CEO. EEC now operates under the "Permag" brand together with Dexter Magnetic Technologies and MCE (Magnetic Component Engineering). In August 2025 the company announced plans to more than double its SmCo magnet production capacity, though the announcement did not disclose specific tonnage figures, and no independent confirmation that the expansion has been completed was found as of this writing.
